Dear Taekwondo Community:

I am excited to announce the dates for the 15th Annual Indy Cup Taekwondo Championships next year in Indianapolis, Indiana!
Saturday, April 17, 2010 - Color Belt Competition
Sunday, April 18, 2010 - Black Belt Competition

Last year was our first year conducting Indy Cup in a two-day format. We received significant positive feedback on this format which gave Color Belts and Black Belts their own competition day and resulted in quicker finishing times both days. We have secured Lawrence North High School as our venue again for next year!

Events for Color Belts will include Forms, Board Breaking, and Sparring. Events for Black Belts will include WTF Competition Poomsae, Forms, Board Breaking, and Sparring.

All Forms competition will be bracketed and contested in a double elimination format. All Black Belt Sparring for ages 14+ will also be contested in a double elimination format. The WTF Competition Poomsae Division is optional for Black Belts. This division will strictly follow the new World Poomsae Championships competition format. We are also researching ways to incorporate the most recent WTF sparring rule changes and implementing them for Indy Cup 2010. These include three point head kicks and an additional point for turning/spinning kicks.

Again, thanks to all for your continued participation and support of Indy Cup. I wish everyone all the best in their Taekwondo endeavors and best of luck at the Nationals and Junior Olympics later this year. I look forward to seeing you at various events in the coming months!
